Today's action features some mouth-watering clashes including fifth seed Jessica Pegula taking on former US Open finalist Leylah Fernandez, 23rd seed Caroline Garcia faces four-time major winner Naomi Osaka and Medvedev plays 30th seed Cameron Norrie.

The second leg of the 'Sunshine Double', the Miami Open comes just a few days after Indian Wells reached its conclusion. Alcaraz and Swiatek start as favorites in Florida but will face stern challenges.

On the men’s side, Australian Open champ Jannik Sinner will be desperate for revenge after losing to Alcaraz in the semi-finals at Indian Wells, as will Medvedev who lost to the Spaniard in the final. The American quartet of Taylor Fritz, Ben Shelton, Frances Tiafoe and Tommy Paul will enjoy plenty of support.

The women’s draw features Australian Open champ Aryna Sabalenka, U.S. Open winner Coco Gauff, former world number one Simona Halep and former Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina. American Jessica Pegula will also be out to impress and Naomi Osaka will continue her comeback.

The 2024 Miami Open starts this week, with women's and men's main draw singles second round matches underway. Doubles are also ongoing. Most of the highly anticipated matches will take place starting today, and the competition will run through to the finals on March 31. If you're looking to tune in, we've got you covered on everything you need to know, including how to watch the Miami Open live streams from anywhere.

The Miami Open Tennis Masters is just the latest stop on the ATP and WTP tours, following the Indian Wells Masters, which concluded last weekend. Carlos Alcaraz and Iga Świątek won the men's and women's singles finals at Indian Wells on Sunday. Alcaraz will play on Saturday and Świątek will compete on Friday, with both players joining the competition now that the main draw matches have started.

Daniil Medvedev, the men's singles champion at the Miami Open in 2023, will compete on Friday following his loss to Alcaraz at Indian Wells last weekend. Top seeds Coco Gauff, Aryna Sabalenka, and Jannik Sinner are also scheduled to play on Friday. The latter two won the Australian Open earlier this year. Notably, Novak Djokovic and Emma Raducanu have withdrawn from the event.

Andy Murray, who will play again on Friday afternoon, has so far been having better luck than his time at Indian Wells. Naomi Osaka, who was eliminated from Indian Wells in the third round, will play again on Friday following an impressive win on Wednesday.

Sinner lost in straight sets to Daniil Medvedev in last year's final, going down 7-5 6-3 as the Russian claimed his third ATP title of the year, although coming into this year's edition of the tournament, the pair are seeded second and third respectively behind 2022 champion Carlos Alcaraz. That victory was the then 18-year-old Spaniard's first in an ATP Masters 1000 event — he's gone on to win four since, as well as two grand slams.

The race for the women's singles title in 2024 is wide open, with last year's champion Petra Kvitova absent through her pregnancy this time around. She defeated Elena Rybakina 7-6 6-2 in the decider, with the Kazakhstani seeded fourth behind Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff coming into the tournament.
